While signing up, please include the names of veterans that you wish to recognize and appear on the back of the HTH t-shirt.
HTH was established in 2020 as family fun event promoting good health and wellness, while supporting Vestavia Hills Community Schools.
The “hill” symbolizes a student’s climb from elementary school that finishes on the “hill” at VHHS and recognizes the climb of life long learning that connects all of us.

Participants are encouraged to wear their HTH t-shirt and hike one of these five neighborhood routes all year round.

The Hike begins at the bridge on Morgan Road and ends on top of the hill past Vestavia Hills High Schools. Free Donato's Pizza for students that make it the top first.

What is the purpose of this event?
· To create a family fun community event that promotes good health & wellness and supports and celebrates Vestavia Hills Community Schools, students and our veterans.
· HTH reminds us of a student’s climb from elementary school that finishes on the “hill” at VHHS and the lifelong climb of learning and the importance of shared experiences to connects us all.
· The veteran’s name, on the back of the t-shirt, symbolizes our respect for their courage and sacrifice by now carrying them on our backs.
What is different about this event?
· Participants, during registration (www.vestaviarotary.org) will provide name(s) of veteran(s) they would like to recognize and include on the HTH T-Shirt.
· Participants are encouraged to hike one the four neighborhood routes with family & friends anytime between Nov 1 and Nov 15th ( Veterans Day Weekend)
· Participants hike any of the four neighborhood routes (at www.vestaviarotary.org) across Vestavia Hills between Nov 1st -12th Courses in Cahaba Heights Liberty Park, City Center have been added to the original Hike the Hill course that begins on the Little Shades Creek Bridge across from Andy’s Nursery and ends at the top of Limerock Road past VHHS.
The Vestavia Hills Rotary Club 501c3 Foundation will use collected funds and donations to support:
· Alabama Veterans Memorial Park off Liberty Park Parkway
· Vestavia Hills School Foundation
· Vestavia Hills Math, Debate & Robotics Team
· Vestavia Hills Highs School Senior Scholarships
· Unless U (www.unlessu.org)
· Vestavia Rotary Programs including First Responder, Teachers & Vestavia Hill City Employee of the Year.

The original hike, from the creek on Morgan Road up the hill past VHHS, represents a students educational climb from elementary school to their destination on the hill.
This is the site of the community wide hike on Sunday Nov.12th 2:00 pm

This hike begins and ends at Cahaba Heights Elementary School, by making a loop down to the corner across from HTH dining sponsor Martin's BBQ Joint.

Liberty Park Elementary is the starting point for this hike, that takes you on a sidewalk tour ending at Lakeside Park

Byrd Park, at East Elementary is where you start this hike. Enjoy the views on the way to the crest.
Vestavia Hills Math and Debate Teams are preparing students for their future.
Funds help provide wells for water and classrooms for education.
