Participants have from September 1 through September 20 to Hike the Hill. This allows everyone to participate at their own pace while respecting CDC Social Distancing Guidelines. Hike the Hill is a sustainable community event that brings people together to benefit their overall health and well-being, while celebrating and supporting impactful programs (PTO and Rotary) that connect us here and around the world.
Participants will select their School PTO Team during registration. A portion of $35/individual or $70/family entry fee will help fund your PTO Team's mission of building stronger relationship with teachers, faculty and staff to support student education that includes providing financial support in the form of grants to support student education.
Annually, The Vestavia Hills Rotary Club celebrates The Teachers of Year, voted on by their peers, from every Vestavia Hills School and recognized as Honorary Hikers.
Start your hike on the corner of Rocky Ridge Road and Morgan Drive in Moe's parking lot. Follow the sidewalk past Andy's and cross back over Morgan , over Little Shades Creek and continue past the high school and ending on the corner of Limerock and Panorama.

What is the meaning behind the logo?
The design recognizes Vestavia Hills commitment to building a strong foundation for students, starting with with their pre-k experience and finishing on the hill with a high school diploma, while recognizing the continuing climb we all share associated with the life long learning.
Funds raised in this event be distributed?
40 % of the registration funds will go to the individual school’s PTO program selected by the participant.
The PTO’s mission is to build stronger relationships with teachers, faculty and staff to support student education that includes providing financial support in the form of grants to support student education.
40% of the registration fee goes to Vestavia Hills Rotary Club 501(c)3 Foundation.

What is different about this event?
Participants can “Hike the Hill” anytime between Sept 1 and Sept 20, allowing everyone to participate at their convenience and pace while respecting Social Distancing. No times are required to track or report, the course is always open.
Where does “Hike the Hill” begin and end?
It starts on the corner of Morgan Road and Rocky Ridge Road, crossing over Little Shades Creek, up past the high school and ending on top of “the Hill” on the corner of Panorama Drive and Limerock Road. The rise in altitude represents a 7% grade, rising over 250 feet at its peak of 710 feet above sea level. This burns 84% more calories than a level course, which is equivalent to level distance of 1.4-miles.
